Calumet High School announced this week that Glenn Patrick will take over as the new head varsity hockey coach, succeeding Dan Giachino who steered the program for eleven seasons.
Patrick, a lifelong resident of Calumet, brings a deep connection to the community and a proven track record of developing talent at the youth level.
A Local Legacy Continues
Before stepping into the top role, Patrick served as an assistant coach for the Copper Kings under veteran Jim Crawford, gaining invaluable experience in game strategy and player development.
His work with high‑level youth teams, especially the girls travel squads that captured multiple regional titles, has earned him a reputation as a meticulous strategist and mentor.
The Board of Education approved the appointment at its recent meeting, citing Patrick’s intimate knowledge of the program and his commitment to maintaining the school’s competitive spirit.
Fans and alumni alike are optimistic that Patrick’s leadership will build on the strong foundation laid by Giachino and propel the Kings to new heights in the coming season.
