The Tennessee Football Coaches Association recently unveiled its Class AA All‑State girls flag football team, spotlighting three standout players from Mt. Juliet who helped the Golden Bears navigate a remarkable season.
A season defined by resilience
The Golden Bears finished the regular season with a 13‑1 record, dropping only a single game before advancing to the inaugural TSSAA Class AA state championship match. In the title game the team held a 25‑13 lead deep into the fourth quarter, only to see Ravenwood rally and claim victory, leaving the Bears just shy of the crown.
Addy Osborne, a sophomore quarterback, powered the offense with 92 completions on 144 attempts for 1,170 yards and 22 touchdowns, and in the championship he went 17‑of‑29 for 219 yards and three scores.
Brooklyn Donohue, a senior who will continue her athletic career at Bellarmine University, earned Region 4‑AA MVP honors, rushed for 1,184 yards and 17 touchdowns in her first 18 games, and added 24 receptions for 194 yards and three scores.
Stella Jacobs, a freshman linebacker, anchored a defense that posted nine shutouts during the first 14 contests, recording 68 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and five sacks, while also deflecting five passes and intercepting one.
All‑State recognition and the road ahead
The trio’s performances earned them spots on the All‑State squad, a testament to their impact on a team that reached the state final and inspired a growing flag‑football culture in Tennessee. The All‑State honor roll also included Adam Brown, Caroline Merville, Kyela Trew, Nicole Cushionberry, Madison Nettles, Isabella Martinez, Jayla Kyles, Rhea Carthon, Illianis Rodriguez and Emma Archer, underscoring the depth of talent on the Golden Bears roster.
The achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of the Tennessee Football Coaches Association, the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association and institutions such as Bellarmine University, all of which continue to shape the future of high school flag football in the state.
