Gonzaga University announced this week that it has added Bryce Douglas, a seasoned assistant coach with a strong background in scouting and player development, to its men’s basketball staff.
Douglas, who most recently served as an assistant at Seattle University, joins the Bulldogs after stints at several high‑profile programs, bringing a blend of analytical insight and on‑court experience that the administration believes will sharpen the team’s talent identification process.
During his career he has worked as a graduate assistant at San Diego Toreros, contributed to a national championship staff at Duke, and held roles as a scout for the Phoenix Suns and special assistant coach for the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs. His diverse background is expected to enrich Gonzaga’s approach to opponent analysis and recruitment.
A New Era of Coaching
The hiring also signals a transition in the coaching roster, as the program prepares for the arrival of Brian Michaelson, who will eventually replace Douglas, while other veteran assistants remain in place.
Arden Cravalho, a recent Gonzaga graduate from the Bay Area, is cited in the announcement as part of the broader effort to integrate new talent into the program’s support network.
