A Strategic Addition to the Bulldogs' Coaching Roster
Gonzaga University announced this week that Bryce Douglas will join the Bulldogs' basketball staff as an assistant coach, bringing a decade‑plus track record of player development, scouting and video analysis to the program.
Douglas arrives after a stint at Seattle University, where he served as an assistant coach in 2023, and after earlier roles at the University of San Diego, Whitman College and Duke University. At Duke, he contributed to the 2015 NCAA championship run and honed his craft under former Gonzaga assistant Billy Grier, who mentored him during his graduate‑assistant year at San Diego.
His career also includes two seasons as a scout and analyst for the Phoenix Suns, where he focused on player development, and a leadership role in the minicamp program for the 2016 USA Basketball team that prepared for the Rio Olympics.
Douglas’s coaching journey began in 2009 as a graduate assistant and video coordinator at the University of San Diego, a position that gave him early exposure to the rigors of collegiate basketball and set the stage for his subsequent moves to Florida and Georgia, where he spent six seasons as a special assistant.
Beyond his club experience, Douglas has been a regular presence in international basketball circles, lending his analytical expertise to USA Basketball’s preparatory efforts and helping shape talent pipelines that culminate in Olympic competition.
