A Perfect Season Celebrated
The Goodrich Girls Varsity Basketball team capped an unprecedented run by defeating the Tecumseh Indians 55–44 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, securing the 2025–26 state championship.
The victory marked the program’s third title and the first undefeated season in Michigan High School Athletic Association history, finishing 29‑0.
Beyond the scoreboard, the squad earned Academic All‑State honors with a collective GPA of 3.6, underscoring the team’s commitment to excellence in the classroom.
Historic Milestones
The championship added to back‑to‑back Class B titles won in 2012 and 2013, cementing the Goodrich program as a perennial powerhouse.
Head coach Jason Gray, who has guided the team through each of its championship runs, was praised for his strategic acumen and player development.
Rep. David Martin took the opportunity to congratulate the athletes, highlighting the importance of community support in achieving such a feat.
The Goodrich School Board also honored the team, recognizing the milestone as a source of pride for the district and the broader region.
