The Goodrich girls soccer team saw its season come to an abrupt close on Tuesday, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against Detroit Country Day in the Division 3 semifinals.
A Defensive Battle
Both squads entered the match with limited chances on goal, but it was Detroit Country Day who broke the deadlock in the second half, capitalising on a rare lapse in the Goodrich backline.
Coach Josh Back, reflecting on the contest, praised the opposition’s disciplined defense while expressing confidence in his own side’s trajectory.
“Their program is strong and well‑coached,” Back said. “We fought hard, and while the result didn’t go our way, I’m proud of how the girls performed. We’ll use this experience to build something even better next year.”
The loss ends a campaign that had shown promise, but the outlook remains bright for a program that returns most of its roster and looks to sharpen its attacking edge.
