A dominant season
Pittsburg State finished the regular season atop the MIAA, capturing both the regular‑season title and the tournament championship while outscoring opponents 45‑14 in the 2026 MIAA Baseball Championship. The team sits fourth in the NCBWA Division II Top 25 and third in the ABCA Division II poll, and it leads the conference in virtually every offensive category.
The Gorillas have won 15 of their last 16 games, a streak that includes a 78‑hit, 21‑double, 24‑home‑run stretch by senior outfielder Dagen Brewer, who also tops the league with 101 RBI. Junior outfielder Eric Bacon contributes 82 runs, 15 doubles, four triples and seven homers, while junior infielder Jadyn McNealy paces the MIAA in stolen bases.
On the mound, graduate right‑hander Zach Voss anchors the staff with an 11‑2 record and a 3.99 ERA, complemented by junior right‑hander Bradyn McClure, who is 5‑0 with a 3.72 ERA and four saves. Senior catcher Grant Nottlemann boasts a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, and the lineup also features Isaac Webb, Cooper Wesslund, and a deep group of supporting players.
Looking ahead
The regional pod will be held at Al Ortolani Field from May 14 through May 17, where Arkansas Tech awaits in the opening contest. With the home‑field advantage and a roster that leads NCAA Division II in on‑base percentage and ranks second nationally in scoring, the Gorillas are poised to make a deep run.
