Pittsburg State University’s baseball squad, the Gorillas, captured a 7‑1 victory over Augustana University in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Final on Thursday night.
Zach Voss delivered a complete game, scattering only three hits while striking out several batters, earning his 12th win of the season and tying a school record.
The offensive onslaught was punctuated by Dagen Brewer’s solo home run and a sacrifice fly, as well as Landon Bruce’s solo homer in the opening inning, while Grant Nottlemann added a two‑run double in the fifth.
Key Play and Defensive Highlight
Eric Bacon made a leaping catch that robbed Troy Berg of a potential home run, preserving the Gorillas’ lead, and the defense was further anchored by Jadyn McNealy and Miles Hanson.
Looking Ahead
The Gorillas now await the winner of the Augustana‑Arkansas Tech matchup, a game that will determine their next challenger in the regional championship.
