Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball coach Raina Harmon announced the signing of Graca Barbosa for the 2026‑27 season, a move that underscores the program's intent to bolster its attacking options.
Barbosa arrives after two seasons at Gulf Coast State College, where she honed a reputation for scoring efficiency and a high basketball IQ. Prior to that, she spent a year at Crowder College, posting 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as a freshman before exploding for 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in her sophomore campaign.
Her impact was evident in moments such as a season‑high 25‑point outing against Gillette College and 11 games with double‑digit scoring, while her freshman year featured a 24‑point performance against Cottey College JV.
In choosing FGCU, Barbosa cited the program's competitive style, fast‑paced execution, emphasis on teamwork and a defensive identity as decisive factors, aligning with the Eagles' developmental philosophy.
