Graham Simpson, a junior quarterback at Westview High School in Martin, Tennessee, burst onto the national radar during his sophomore season. He compiled more than 3,000 passing yards and 35 touchdowns, guiding the Wolverines to a perfect campaign and the school’s first state championship in decades.
A Season of Accolades
The performance earned Simpson the TSSAA 3A Mr. Football award, a honor that recognizes the state’s most outstanding player. The trophy capped a year in which the team finished unbeaten, and his name quickly entered conversations among college scouts.
College programs have taken notice, extending offers from several Power 5 conferences. Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are among the schools that have courted the young quarterback, while his list of top five also includes Ole Miss and Kentucky.
Simpson’s brother, Ty Simpson, was recently selected in the NFL Draft, adding a familial narrative of athletic achievement. The two have spent the summer attending camps, where the junior repeatedly impressed coaches with his arm strength and poise.
With his decision window set for February, Simpson says he remains grateful for every program that has invested time in him. He emphasizes a desire to play at the highest level while staying true to the values instilled by his family and coaches.
