Grayden Harris earns spot on 2026 USA Collegiate National Team
Grayden Harris, a left‑handed pitcher from the University of Southern Mississippi, has been selected for the 2026 USA Collegiate National Team, a roster that will represent the United States at the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taichung City, Taiwan.
His inclusion follows an 11‑day training camp that spanned North Carolina and Virginia, where he logged five innings without surrendering a run, walking no batters and striking out eight while allowing just four hits.
Harris joins a distinguished lineage of Golden Eagles who have earned USA Baseball honors, being the fourth such player after Tony Phillips (1991), Matt Wallner (2018) and Tanner Hall (2022).
The 28‑player squad draws talent from 21 colleges across five conferences, with Florida leading the pack by contributing three athletes, while powerhouses Auburn, Mississippi State, Oregon, UCLA and Vanderbilt each place two representatives.
The Southeastern Conference dominates the roster, accounting for 16 of the 28 spots, underscoring the league’s depth and the competitive edge it provides to the national team.
From July 11 to 15, the championship will feature pool play, semifinals and medal games over five consecutive days, giving the U.S. team a chance to test itself against Korea, Chinese Taipei and Japan in its opening group.
Beyond the on‑field action, the event highlights the growing international collaboration in collegiate baseball and offers a platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills on a global stage.
