Regional Champions and All‑State Honors Light Up Greater Lansing Baseball
Two of the region’s most storied programs have brought home regional crowns, and their successes are reflected in the latest all‑state selections announced by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Portland St. Patrick, the No. 1 team in Division 4, celebrated a dominant season by placing five of its standouts on the all‑state roster. The accolade underscores the team’s depth and the coaching staff’s ability to develop talent that can compete at the highest level of high school baseball in the state.
Williamston, competing in Division 2, also earned a spot on the all‑state list with three of its players receiving the honor. Their inclusion highlights the program’s consistent competitiveness and its ability to produce standout athletes despite a different classification.
A Broader Landscape of Talent Across the Area
The recognition does not stop with the two championship squads. Programs such as East Lansing and DeWitt each contributed a single Division 1 all‑state selection, while Eaton Rapids added one Division 2 honoree. Leslie and Ovid‑Elsie each placed a player in Division 3, and Fulton and Dansville each earned a Division 4 nod. The spread of selections across multiple schools illustrates the rich talent pool that exists throughout the Greater Lansing baseball community.
These achievements are more than just individual accolades; they reflect a season of growth, teamwork, and the culmination of countless hours of practice on the diamond. As the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association continues to spotlight emerging talent, local fans can look forward to seeing many of these players carry their success into the next chapter of their athletic journeys.
