Phoenix Women’s Basketball Sets New Academic Benchmark
The Green Bay Phoenix women’s basketball program has once again distinguished itself as a model of academic achievement, posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.965 for the latest reporting year.
That figure earned the team the top spot on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, a ranking that recognizes programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, III and the NAIA with the highest combined GPAs.
It marks the sixth occasion in program history that Green Bay has claimed the No. 1 position on the honor roll and the second straight year the team has finished atop the list, underscoring a sustained commitment to scholarly excellence.
A Legacy of Excellence
The Phoenix have now appeared on the WBCA Academic Honor Roll for 12 consecutive seasons, a streak that reflects the consistent focus on balancing athletic ambition with classroom rigor.
Coaches, administrators and student‑athletes alike credit a culture that values scholarship as much as competition, noting that the program’s success is built on supportive resources, mentorship and a shared sense of purpose.
The university’s broader mission of integrating academic and athletic development is evident in the way the team’s achievement is celebrated, reinforcing the institution’s reputation as a leader in collegiate sports governance.
