Providence Academy announced this week that Greg White will serve as the school’s new head coach for the boys basketball program, tapping a veteran strategist who has spent the last two years at Thaden School.
A Coaching Legacy
White arrives with a career record of 291 wins and 218 losses, a résumé that includes a 133‑92 stint as the inaugural boys coach at Bentonville West, where his team captured the 6A‑West Conference championship in the 2022‑23 season.
He will inherit a roster that features all‑state standouts Luke Fugate and Levi St. Clair, who helped the Providence team finish the previous season at 26‑7 overall and dominate the 3A‑1 regular‑season schedule with a perfect 14‑0 mark.
White’s move is notable because it comes just as Thaden prepares to open a brand‑new gymnasium, a facility that many expected would solidify the school’s athletic footprint.
Promotion Within
In a parallel development, the academy promoted Hayley Kate Webb to head coach of the girls basketball team, replacing Brendan Wiley. Webb, the school’s all‑time leading scorer with more than 2,600 points, previously guided Providence to two Heartland Christian Athletic Association state titles and earned Northwest Arkansas Democrat‑Gazette Player of the Year honors in 2017.
The appointments signal a renewed focus on continuity and competitive depth across both programs as the academy looks to build on recent successes and maintain its strong presence in Arkansas high school basketball.
