A Night of Celebration
Five months after capturing the Class 7A state title, the Gulfport High School football team gathered in the school auditorium for a red‑carpet ceremony that blended tradition with fanfare.
The Admiral Championship Awards not only handed out championship rings but also served a catered meal, played celebratory videos, and spotlighted the moments and personalities that defined the season.
Head Coach Blake Pennock, senior standout Parker Nettles and rising star Cooper Crosby each stepped to the microphone after the ceremony, sharing reflections on the journey, the community’s support, and the significance of the first ever Class 7A championship for the Admirals.
The rings themselves, gleaming with the team’s logo and the year’s achievements, were presented on a stage adorned with banners and a backdrop of the school’s colors, underscoring the pride felt by players, families, and alumni alike.
School officials highlighted the milestone as a historic first for Gulfport athletics, noting that the championship reflects years of dedication from coaches, staff, and the broader Gulfport community, and they praised the team’s perseverance throughout a demanding schedule.
The event concluded with a standing ovation as the team took a collective bow, a moment captured on video that will be shared across the district’s social media channels and local news outlets.
