North Dakota women's basketball head coach Dennis Hutter announced the hiring of Hailey Hohenecker as the program's director of basketball operations for the 2026‑27 season, a move he says will strengthen the team's infrastructure and competitive edge.
Hohenecker arrives after a standout tenure at Iowa Central Community College, where she helped turn a 7‑21 record into a 22‑9 season and played a pivotal role in player development, conditioning, and comprehensive scouting.
In her new role, she will oversee summer camps, coordinate film analysis, and manage the logistics that keep the program running smoothly, allowing the coaching staff to focus on on‑court strategy.
A Distinguished Playing Career
Before stepping into administration, Hohenecker distinguished herself as a collegiate player at St. Thomas, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Chicago State University, where she capped her career with a 2024‑25 season that earned her the Most Valuable Player honor.
Her professional development includes a stint in the Eurobasket Summer League in Portugal during the summer of 2025, exposing her to international competition and diverse coaching philosophies.
Off the court, she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in business management from Chicago State University in 2025, a testament to her commitment to both athletics and academics.

Having lived and trained in Europe, North America, and now joining a program in the Upper Midwest, Hohenecker brings a multicultural perspective that she believes will enrich the team's approach to strategy and player relations.
