Hailey Williams has been appointed as an assistant coach for the Virginia Tech women's soccer team for the 2026 season, bringing a blend of collegiate playing experience and extensive coaching expertise to the program.

Williams previously served as an assistant coach at UMBC, where she oversaw day‑to‑day operations and contributed to recruiting efforts, and later directed the Maryland‑Elite Soccer Club, managing its executive functions, finance and a year‑round player development curriculum.

From Player to Coach

A Stetson University graduate, Williams started 46 career games as a midfielder and earned a cum laude bachelor's degree in philosophy with minors in sociology and business law.

Her coaching credentials include multiple licenses, highlighted by a U.S. Soccer Federation 'A' License, underscoring her commitment to professional development.

In her new role, Williams will work alongside the Hokies' head coach to shape strategy, enhance player development and continue the program's upward trajectory in the competitive collegiate soccer landscape.
