Halcones FC is set to make its debut in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) during the 2026‑27 season, bringing professional indoor soccer to Tacoma for the first time.
The WISL, founded in 2014, has evolved into a premier platform for clubs across the Pacific Northwest, offering a competitive arena where teams such as the Tacoma Stars Reserves and Bellingham United — champions of the 2025‑26 campaign — test their mettle.
The club’s name, ‘Halcones,’ translates to ‘Falcons’ in Spanish and encapsulates the qualities of speed, strength, focus and determination that the franchise wishes to embody on the court.
A New Falconry in Tacoma
Central to the organization’s philosophy is the development of home‑grown talent; the roster will be anchored by players drawn from leagues in King County and neighboring communities, allowing the team to nurture local skill while competing at a national level.
Before entering the WISL, Halcones FC honed its approach in regional tournaments, using those experiences to shape a style of play that prioritizes rapid transitions and disciplined defense.
Eliseo Guerrero, a local soccer advocate, will play a pivotal role in guiding the team’s integration into the community, linking the club’s ambitions with the city’s rich sporting heritage.
With an eye on sustainability, Halcones FC aims to become more than a team; it seeks to be a catalyst for youth engagement, providing pathways for aspiring athletes to pursue higher levels of competition while remaining rooted in Tacoma’s vibrant neighborhoods.
