A Tradition Rekindled

Pro Football Hall of Fame President and CEO Jim Porter, who has led the institution since 2021, grew up in Stark County and recalls anticipating the Enshrinement Festival more than Christmas as a child, a sentiment that still fuels his enthusiasm for the event.
Porter also shared a moving anecdote about a terminally ill visitor who found emotional uplift after trying on a gold jacket, underscoring the Hall’s role as a place of inspiration and community connection.
Among the festival’s memorable moments, Porter counts Aerosmith’s 2015 Concert for Legends as one of his personal favorites, a performance that blended music and football culture in a unique celebration.
This year’s headline concert will feature country star Lainey Wilson, whose rising popularity has driven tickets to near‑sold‑out status, reflecting the festival’s growing appeal beyond the sport itself.
Adding to the excitement, the Class of 2026 Unscripted & Tailgate event on August 9 will host a roundtable with football legends Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri, offering fans a rare opportunity to hear directly from the game’s icons.
