The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville recently welcomed a distinguished class that brought together former players, coaches, and analysts who have each left an indelible mark on the game.
Inductees and Their Legacies
Candace Parker, a Tennessee alumna and three‑time WNBA champion, joins Elena Delle Donne, the two‑time MVP and Olympic gold medalist, in the spotlight as the ceremony honors their on‑court dominance and lasting influence.
Also inducted were Amaya Valdemoro, who helped the Houston Comets secure three consecutive titles and later shone in the EuroLeague, and Isabelle Fijalkowski, the French national team’s all‑time leading scorer who starred in the league’s inaugural seasons.
Coaches Cheryl Reeve, who guided the Minnesota Lynx to four championships and led the U.S. to gold as head coach in 2024, and Kim Muhl, who retired after 37 years at Kirkwood Community College with over a thousand victories, were recognized alongside analyst Doris Burke, now a staple of ESPN’s NBA coverage.
A Lasting Impact
The class also pays tribute to the late Barbara Kennedy‑Dixon, a Clemson pioneer whose contributions as a player and administrator helped shape the sport’s early development. Together, these honorees illustrate how excellence, leadership, and perseverance have propelled women’s basketball forward, inspiring the next generation of athletes and administrators.
