Hannah Main, a senior midfielder from Oyster River High School, has been crowned the 2026 Seacoast High School Field Hockey Preseason Player of the Year after a community‑wide online poll delivered her nearly 51 % of the votes.
The vote, which closed earlier this week, placed Leah Walsh of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in second place with about 32 % of the tally, while the remaining nominees — Madison Evans of Traip Academy, Scarlett Gray of Dover and Fiona McAfee of Winnacunnet — rounded out the shortlist.
Main’s recognition follows a standout 2025 season in which she helped the Oyster River Bobcats advance to the Division II semifinals, a run that capped a strong senior campaign.
Coach’s Outlook
Head coach Anne Golding praised the midfielder’s offseason work ethic, noting that her preparation was evident during a recent home scrimmage against Dover.
Golding described Main as a player who will anchor the Bobcats’ midfield and shape the team’s strategy as they look to improve on last year’s senior‑final appearance.
The Bobcats are poised to build on their recent success, with Main’s leadership expected to drive a deeper playoff push in the upcoming season.
