The Hanover High football program has become a benchmark of consistency in Division 5, having secured a playoff victory in each of the past five seasons.
A New Chapter for the Hawks
Tyler Coady, the program’s newly appointed head coach, replaces Brian Kelliher, who stepped down after three seasons to return to a defensive coordinator role.
Coady inherits a team that finished the previous season at 7‑4, reached the Division 5 quarterfinals, and dropped early games to Hingham and Duxbury last year.
Since 2021 the Hawks have compiled a 43‑16 record, including a Super Bowl loss in 2023 and state semifinal appearances in 2022 and 2024.
Key Matchups and Revenge Games
The schedule opens with a home contest against Hingham in Week 1, followed by a road test at Duxbury in Week 2, both opportunities to reverse recent defeats.
Later in the season the Hawks will travel to face West Bridgewater, host Pembroke, and meet Plymouth South, North Quincy, Quincy, Scituate, and a marquee matchup against Plymouth South and Quincy.
Coach Coady has stressed a balanced offensive scheme and a disciplined defense, aiming to preserve the program’s reputation for resilience and to keep the playoff streak alive.
Fans and alumni alike are eager to see how the new leadership will shape the team’s chemistry as the Hawks prepare to confront traditional rivals and top‑ranked opponents throughout the year.
