A Fresh Era for Hanover Park Football
Nick Liberato stepped onto the varsity sideline this spring as the first‑year head coach of the Hanover Park football team, inheriting a program that captured a sectional championship just a year ago. The victory marked the team’s first title in three decades, a milestone that has set high expectations for the upcoming campaign.
The squad enters the 2026 season with a roster of roughly 60 athletes, of which 42 will see action on the varsity level. Community support has been bolstered by strong youth and recreation programs in East Hanover and Florham Park, providing a steady pipeline of talent that the coaching staff hopes to translate into on‑field success.
Defensively, the team will rely on a core group of returning standouts, including Lucas Kerr, Garrett Walters, Luke Morgese and Ryan Medich. Their experience is expected to anchor a unit that will face a demanding schedule, meeting defending champions and perennial contenders such as Lyndhurst, Kinnelon, West Essex, Caldwell, Westwood, Madison, Mahwah, Mountain Lakes and Pequannock.
