A Historic Season
The Harbor Springs baseball team has etched its name into the school’s record books by securing a share of the Northern Shores Conference championship, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in more than three decades. The Rams completed the league schedule with a flawless 12‑2 record, capping the season with a double‑header sweep of Cheboygan that ended 16‑1 and 5‑2.
Game one was a showcase of power and precision, as Thaddeus Cosens drove in four runs while striking out three batters, and Greyson Rife added two RBIs. Nick Lemieur and JJ Spencer each contributed two runs, while Ben McShannock delivered a solid pitching performance that set the tone for the series.
Looking Ahead to Districts
Now the Rams turn their focus to the Division 3 district tournament in Elk Rapids, where they will meet Mancelona at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30. The matchup represents another chance for the team to build on its recent successes, having captured district titles in 2021 and 2024.
Community members and alumni alike are celebrating the milestone, anticipating a deep run in the postseason. The excitement reflects not only the team’s on‑field prowess but also the strong support system that has helped shape these young athletes.
