Hurricanes Aim for First State Crown
The Hardeeville Hurricanes are back in the South Carolina Class A boys soccer championship, marking their second straight appearance in the title match. With an 18‑7 record and an eight‑game winning streak, the squad enters the contest as a formidable contender.
Head coach Misael Garzon has stressed the need to set the tone early, urging his players to dictate the pace from the first whistle.
Stars Ready to Shine
Seniors Fabian Ramirez and Efrain Tinoco, along with junior Jayden Cruz, earned SCHSL Class A All‑State honors last season. Their experience and skill have been pivotal in the team’s resurgence.
Tinoco, reflecting on the team’s ups and downs, said the players are motivated to finish what they started a year ago when they fell to Dixie High School in the championship.
The championship game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Columbia, where the Hurricanes hope to capture their first-ever state title.
A Familiar Rival
Dixie High School stands between the Hurricanes and the trophy, having edged them out in last year’s final. The rematch promises another tightly contested battle.
The Jasper County School District, which oversees the program, will be watching closely as the team looks to bring the championship home to Hardeeville.
