2026 Enquirer All-City Baseball Team Spotlights Local Excellence
The annual All-City Baseball Team, chosen by city coaches and the Battle Creek Enquirer staff, celebrates the finest high school talent across the region. This year's edition highlights not only standout performances but also the resilience of programs that navigated significant roster turnover.
Harper Creek's baseball program, under the guidance of Coach of the Year Jason Miller, overcame a wave of graduation losses to capture the All-City Tournament and finish tied for the most victories among city squads with an 18‑14 record. Miller's ability to blend fresh talent with remaining veterans turned a rebuilding year into a championship run.
Several Harper Creek standouts earned all‑city honors, including Tanner Alderson, Tristen Johnson, Maddox McCarty, Nathan Miller and Connor Rosenburg. Their contributions helped shape a competitive lineup that impressed both coaches and analysts.
Lakeview also posted an 18‑win season, driven by all‑city selections Camden Bradley, Mason Hood, Isaiah Jackson, Sam McCullough and Memphis Wirtz. The team's depth and consistent hitting proved decisive in a tightly contested league race.
Pennfield closed the year at 18‑13‑1, showcasing a balanced attack anchored by all‑city players Brady Conley, Garrett Hill, Calvin Paesens and Johnny Lake. Their steady improvement reflected a promising trajectory for the program.
The St. Philip/Climax‑Scotts co‑op finished over .500 at 14‑6 and placed three players — Carter Dzwik, Dane Sattler and Nyle Sattler — on the all‑city list, underscoring the strength of collaborative effort.
Battle Creek Central was represented by Malachi Dishman, whose performance earned him a spot on the prestigious team.
