Warriors Eye Breakthrough Season
The Harrison High School football program, known as the Warriors, is entering the 2026 campaign with a sense of optimism after capturing their first sectional title since 2016 last year. The victory marked a turning point for a team that had endured a long drought, and it has set the stage for a renewed push toward greater achievements.
Head coach Moe Sutton, now in his seventh year at the helm, stresses that progress will be measured not just in wins but in the collective effort of every player. Sutton believes that a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility can unlock the talent within the senior class, which numbers roughly twenty athletes.
With about forty to fifty participants across the roster, the Warriors are looking to distribute opportunities evenly, encouraging each athlete to shine in his designated role each week. This approach aims to foster individual growth while maintaining a cohesive unit on the field.
The season officially begins on August 21, 2026, when Harrison travels to face Reitz at 6:30 p.m. The matchup will serve as the first test of the team’s chemistry and the culmination of offseason preparations that have been marked by intense drills and strategic planning.
Beyond the scoreboard, the recent sectional triumph has lifted morale and instilled a belief that the program can compete with traditionally stronger opponents. Players and staff alike are focused on translating that confidence into tangible results throughout the schedule.
As the Warriors gear up for the new season, the combination of experienced leadership, a motivated senior class, and a clear tactical vision positions them to aim for more than just a single victory. The hope is to build on the momentum and create a lasting impact on the program’s trajectory.
