A new home field for the Rainbow Warriors
The University of Hawai'i women's soccer program is set to begin its 2026 campaign on a brand‑new on‑campus venue that has been constructed on the Mānoa campus. The state‑of‑the‑art field, part of a Phase I development that also houses a track‑and‑field facility, marks a significant shift from previous seasons played at external sites.
Twelve matches are slated for the schedule, with the first seven taking place at the Mānoa location before the team potentially returns to the historic Waipi'o Valley ground for Mountain West contests in October. This arrangement allows the program to build momentum on its own turf while preserving a link to its storied past.
Opening clash with Texas Tech
The season opener is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, at 4 p.m., when the Warriors host Texas Tech. Because the venue is still being prepared, the match will not be televised, but it will serve as the first of many home appearances that the team hopes to showcase to the community.
The game will also mark the debut of the temporary bleacher seating and production infrastructure that have been installed to accommodate spectators and broadcast crews.
Broadcast and ticketing details
A week later, on Sunday, August 16, the team will face Kansas State, and coverage will begin on K5’s UH Athletics channel, giving viewers a chance to follow the action live. The broadcast will highlight the growing visibility of the program and the new facility.
Admission to all matches at the on‑campus field is free of charge, though parking fees will apply. This policy reflects the university’s aim to make the games accessible to students, alumni and the broader Honolulu community while offsetting modest operational costs.
