The University of Hawaiʻi’s football program has unveiled a fresh jersey design that prominently displays Hawaiian Airlines’ Pualani patch, marking the first time the carrier’s logo appears on a Rainbow Warrior uniform.
The visual debut coincides with the team’s opening matchup at Stanford, where the new kit will make its on‑field debut before a national audience.
A Milestone on the Field
Beyond the aesthetic update, the partnership underscores a three‑decade relationship in which Hawaiian Airlines has served as the exclusive charter carrier for the Warriors, ferrying athletes and staff on six U.S. road trips each season.
The airline’s commitment is further highlighted by its recent acquisition of Airbus A321neo aircraft, a fleet upgrade that promises greater efficiency and comfort for traveling teams.
Hawaii Sports Properties, the university’s multimedia rights holder, will oversee the collaboration, ensuring that the partnership extends into fan experiences through game‑day activations, promotional offers and original digital content featuring student‑athletes.
Both Matt Elliott, director of UH Athletics, and Diana Birkett Rakow, CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, have emphasized that the alliance reflects a shared pride in representing Hawaiʻi on the national stage.
The renewed agreement arrives as UH Athletics enters its inaugural full season within the Mountain West Conference, a move that follows years of success that include nine team national championships and 11 individual national titles across the university’s 21 varsity programs.
Fans can look forward to a series of interactive experiences that blend sport, culture and community, reinforcing the notion that the Rainbow Warriors and their airline partner are united under a common banner.
The collaboration sets a precedent for how collegiate athletics and regional carriers can join forces to amplify visibility, support student‑athlete welfare and celebrate the unique spirit of Hawaiʻi.
