Empowering Memphis Youth Through Basketball
The Heal the Hood Foundation is set to host its annual All‑Star Weekend youth basketball camp in Memphis, turning the city’s courts into a laboratory for life lessons.
Guided by former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and veteran trainer Kevin Whitted, the camp blends skill development with mentorship, offering participants a chance to learn from seasoned basketball minds.
Over the course of the weekend, children aged 7 to 18 will rotate through drills, competitive games and interactive mentor sessions designed to sharpen both their game and their character.
Organizers say the event is more than a sports clinic; it is a community effort to raise $10,000 that will fund the summer camp and provide assistance to families with multiple children, reinforcing the foundation’s mission to empower youth on and off the court.
The camp culminates with a Celebrity All‑Star Game at Ridgeway High School, giving participants a showcase moment that ties the weekend’s energy to a broader community celebration.
