A Night of Health and Soccer
Healthfirst and the Westchester Soccer Club came together for the second annual WSC Healthcare Night, an event designed to blend the excitement of soccer with practical health resources for the Yonkers community.
The evening featured a competitive match between the Westchester Soccer Club and the New York Cosmos, drawing families to the field and creating a lively atmosphere that celebrated both sport and wellness.
Attendees took advantage of Medicare Savings Program eligibility screenings led by Healthfirst, while a dedicated kids' zone offered a soccer dart game, obstacle course, and other interactive activities.
Halftime provided health trivia contests and giveaways, reinforcing the event's mission to educate and empower participants about preventive care and healthy living.
John Thompson, Yonkers Police Athletic League Family Engagement Night Coordinator, received a Community Award from Healthfirst in recognition of his long‑standing commitment to health and wellness in the city.
Healthfirst executives, including Mitch Baruchowitz and Miguel Centeno, joined Northwell Health representatives such as Dr. Debbie Salas‑Lopez on stage, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the initiative.
Marisol Mancebo of the Yonkers Police Athletic League took the opportunity to thank Healthfirst for its continued support, underscoring the importance of partnerships that bridge sports, health, and community outreach.
