The Hermon girls soccer program has become a benchmark of consistency, chasing its fifth Class B North championship in just six seasons and aiming for its first-ever state title.
Last year’s graduation stripped the squad of two prolific goal scorers, Natalie Tardie and Madison Stewart, leaving a void that the coaching staff is addressing with a fresh influx of talent.
A Fresh Schedule, New Challenges
The team opens the season with a showdown against Ellsworth on September 5, followed by a clash with Foxcroft Academy on September 9, tests that will quickly reveal the squad’s depth.
Senior goalkeeper Becca Balmas believes the team’s experience between the posts can mask the loss of offensive firepower, noting that the new roster brings a blend of skill and hunger.
Midfielder Payton Guerrette added that a balanced scoring approach will distribute responsibility, reducing pressure on any single player and fostering a more unpredictable attack.

Freshman Lila Ryan emphasized that team chemistry and the seamless integration of newcomers are central to the squad’s philosophy, promising a cohesive unit that can compete at the highest level.
