Historic Non‑Conference Slate Unveiled
High Point University’s men’s basketball program revealed its 2026‑27 non‑conference schedule on Thursday, promising the most competitive slate in Division I history for the Panthers.
Head Coach Flynn Clayman said the schedule was designed to test the team and accelerate its fast‑paced style, featuring two Power‑4 opponents and a first‑time visit to the Qubein Center.
The lineup includes home‑and‑home series with Saint Louis and George Mason, while exhibition games against UNCW and ETSU open the season before a historic midnight tip against Liberty on November 2, the first such tip since 2016.
The Panthers will also host three CollegeInsider.com Mid‑Major Top 25 teams — No. 14 UNCW, No. 2 Miami (OH) and No. 10 Liberty — and welcome powerhouses such as LSU and Miami (OH) to the Qubein Center.
Key Matchups and Road Trips
With 12 home games before Big South play, the schedule blends power‑conference foes, elite neutral‑site contests and recent NCAA Tournament Round of 32 participants, all while the roster welcomes eight new transfers and three freshmen. The road portion includes trips to Montana State, Duquesne and LSU, as well as appearances in the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon.
