Morgan Wilcox opened the scoring in the 25th minute, capitalising on a swift transition to slip a low strike past the goalkeeper. Ten minutes later, Chloe Edwards celebrated her first collegiate goal, finishing a well‑timed cross that put High Point ahead at the half‑time break.
East Carolina answered after the interval, equalising with a well‑placed effort that restored parity at 2-2. The goal underscored the competitiveness of the encounter and left both benches eager for a decisive moment in the final stages.
Head coach Aaron McGuiness praised the team's resilience, noting that the side created multiple scoring opportunities and displayed a willingness to press forward despite the draw. "We’re disappointed not to walk away with all three points, but the effort was there," he said.
In goal, Nylah Mirshafiei was busy, making four saves over the 90 minutes to keep the Panthers in contention and preserve the clean sheet until the equaliser arrived.
