The Hingham Little League 13U team capped a remarkable summer with an 11‑2 record, earning the second district championship in the town’s Little League history.

A Season Defined by Hitting and Pitching

At the plate the squad posted a collective .412 batting average, highlighted by a .503 mark in situations with runners in scoring position. Over 13 games they compiled 142 hits, including 45 extra‑base hits and 14 home runs, underscoring a lineup that consistently moved runners.

On the mound the rotation posted a 1.94 ERA, with pitchers averaging six strikeouts and just two walks per game, a balance that kept opponents at bay.

Key Victories and Close Contests

The team opened the district bracket with a 13‑run, 15‑hit first‑inning outburst against Scituate, then added wins over Melrose before stumbling against Bedford and dropping a 6‑3 decision to Massapequa Coast.

Road Trip to Delaware

The journey took the club to Dover, Delaware, where they competed in the Little League 50/70 Intermediate Eastern Regionals. After a series of games that included a beach outing at Rehoboth Beach, the squad finished the regional tournament with a 4‑2 record.

State Championship and Coaching Praise

Following the regional stop, the club traveled to Auburn, Massachusetts, to capture the state championship final against Melrose, a victory that capped a season many will remember.
