Coached by Concepcion, McPhillips and Mularkey, the Hitmen close the season 9‑1 and look ahead to a September start of the eighth season

A Season to Remember

The Middle Village Players (MVP) Roller Hockey League wrapped up its seventh season on May 19, crowning the Hitmen as champions after a decisive 5‑1 victory over the Tigers.

Coached by Mike Concepcion, Eugene McPhillips and Stephen Mularkey, the winning side finished the campaign with a 9‑1 record, a performance that underscored their dominance throughout the schedule.

Team captain Jack Pogozelski led the offense as the league’s top goal scorer, while goaltender Paul Pogozelski guarded the net and playmaker Conor McPhillips topped the assists chart.

The Tigers, guided by coaches Gary Posylkin and John Foley and captained by Max Szlabinski, pushed the Hitmen hard before succumbing in the final.

League organizers took the opportunity to thank the volunteer coaching staff, sponsors and the families of players for their unwavering support throughout the season.

Looking ahead, the MVP Roller Hockey League will open its eighth season on September 12, promising more competition and community engagement.
