Hoboken High School is turning its Friday evenings into a community soccer hub, offering free play for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Free Friday Night Soccer Sessions Open to K‑12 Students
The district has organized the program into three distinct time blocks, each tailored to a specific grade range, ensuring age‑appropriate competition and camaraderie.
Students in grades K‑2 and 3‑5 will meet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., sharing a split field that encourages teamwork across younger age cohorts.
Older participants, ranging from grades 6‑8, take the full field from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., while high schoolers in grades 9‑12 enjoy the same space from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The district urges participants to bring their own ball, stay hydrated with water, and arrive with a positive attitude, reminding them to display their Redwing pride throughout each session.
All sessions will be held at Louis M. Taglieri, Jr. Stadium on Tenth and Jefferson streets, a venue that has become a gathering point for families across the city.
Beyond the sport, the initiative aims to foster physical activity, social connection, and school spirit, reinforcing Hoboken’s commitment to inclusive youth programs.
The four‑week schedule provides a consistent opportunity for families to engage in healthy recreation without financial barriers, reinforcing community ties as the school year progresses.
