The 21st Annual Hockey Day Minnesota will take place in Brainerd in 2027, offering a full week of competition that showcases the region’s deep hockey roots.

Games are slated from January 26 through January 30, featuring high school and college teams across the Brainerd Lakes Area, with the centerpiece being a showdown between the Minnesota Wild and the Dallas Stars on January 30 at the Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul.

UnitedHealthcare returns as the presenting partner, while the Minnesota Wild, the local organizing committee and a coalition of media and hockey development partners coordinate the festivities.

Matt Majka, chief executive officer of the Minnesota Wild, said the event reflects the state’s passion for the sport and promises to be the largest Hockey Day celebration to date.

Brad Pieper, chair of the Brainerd Local Organizing Committee, welcomed fans to the Brainerd Lakes Area, highlighting the community’s historic connection to the game.

Tickets will go on sale July 20, 2026, giving supporters ample time to secure seats for the week‑long schedule of matches and community activities.

Since its inception in 2007, Hockey Day Minnesota has grown into a statewide tradition that celebrates the sport’s heritage and fosters youth participation across Minnesota.

The tournament is produced in partnership with Bally Sports North, Minnesota Hockey and the local host community, ensuring a broad platform for the state’s vibrant hockey ecosystem.
