St. Cloud State, local high schools and the Minnesota Wild headline a weekend of games culminating in a Wild vs Stars showdown

Hockey Day Minnesota 2027 will transform the iconic Brainerd International Raceway into a sprawling celebration of the sport, drawing teams, fans and media from across the Upper Midwest.

Event Schedule

The schedule kicks off on Wednesday, Jan. 27, when the Crush boys take on St. Michael‑Albertville at 7 p.m., followed the next day by the Crush girls facing Warroad at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, Sartell will meet Delano at 4:45 p.m., and the following evening the Huskies will square off against the Tommies at 4:30 p.m.

The festivities will culminate on Saturday, Jan. 30, with the Minnesota Wild hosting the Dallas Stars at 8 p.m. in St. Paul, a marquee NHL matchup that promises to cap the weekend with national attention.

Brad Pieper, chair of the Brainerd Local Organizing Committee, said the expanded format reflects a growing appetite for hockey across Minnesota and will provide a platform for both emerging talent and longtime fans to connect.

Local officials and university partners, including representatives from St. Cloud State University and St. Thomas University, have highlighted the event’s role in promoting community engagement and collegiate athletics.
