Hofstra Basketball Celebrates Academic Accolades
Five members of the Hofstra University men's basketball team have been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2025-26 Honors Court, a distinction that highlights outstanding scholarly performance among student-athletes.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes men's collegiate basketball players who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher throughout the 2025-26 academic year, underscoring the program's commitment to balancing athletics and education.
Among those honored are seniors and graduate students Trey Boyd III, Cruz Davis, Brandon Morgan, German Plotnikov and Alex Tsynkevich, each of whom met the rigorous academic standards while contributing to the team on the court.
In addition to individual recognition, the Hofstra program earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the third consecutive year, a testament to the collective scholarly achievement of the entire roster.
The award, which requires a team GPA of at least 3.0 for the 2025-26 academic year, reflects the university's broader emphasis on integrating athletic ambition with academic rigor.
