The Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball team kicked off its offseason program this week, marking the first steps of a roster that blends returning veterans with a wave of new talent.
Departures and Arrivals
Eight players entered the transfer portal, and two — Shay Ciezki and Jerni Kiaku — exhausted their eligibility, accounting for ten departures in total. Freshman guard Nevaeh Caffey, one of the most highly anticipated newcomers, has already committed to the Missouri Tigers, bringing a home‑state connection to her next chapter.
Among those who remain, senior stalwarts Lenee Beaumont, Zania Socka‑Nguemen and Maya Makalusky have chosen to stay, providing continuity and leadership for the upcoming season.
New Faces on the Horizon
The program added USC guard Malia Samuels, Iowa State guard Kenzie Hare, Nebraska forward Jessica Petrie and Iowa State forward Alisa Williams, each bringing diverse skill sets and fresh energy. Alongside them, a talented four‑member freshman class arrived in Bloomington, eager to make an immediate impact.
Coach Teri Moren has emphasized that the mix of experience and youth is intentional, aiming to maintain competitiveness while building a sustainable future for the Hoosiers.
