The Hopkins baseball squad continued its dominant stretch, posting an 11‑0 victory over Pioneer in the Western Mass. Class D semifinal. The win marked the fourth straight game in which the team has been shut out, underscoring a pitching staff that has yet to surrender a run.
With the triumph, the top‑seeded Hawks now turn their attention to the championship matchup against third‑seeded Ware. A victory would deliver the program’s first sectional crown since 2021, a milestone that has been the season’s central goal.
The offensive fireworks have been equally impressive. In a separate game, Easthampton routed Smith Voc 12‑2, with Christian D’onofrio and Bailey Davis each driving in three runs. Kaleb Jorritsma, who earned the win for Smith Voc, struck out 12 batters while allowing just two hits.
Southwick, meanwhile, saw its unbeaten streak snapped by Gateway, which collected two hits from Cole Przybyla. Granby also posted an 11‑6 win over Mahar, highlighted by Brandon Carillon’s three‑RBI double and a combined 11 strikeouts from Carillon and Brodie Funk on the mound.
Longmeadow completed a sweep of Northampton in the Class A final, extending its season‑long dominance over the Blue Devils.
