The Horizon League announced its Raise Your Sights award winners on Tuesday, June 16, honoring the league’s top academic male and female teams based on combined grade point average.
Academic Excellence Recognized
Among the honorees were the Indiana University–Indianapolis men’s tennis squad and the women’s soccer program, both celebrated for their exemplary scholarship performance.
The men’s tennis team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.72, while the women’s soccer side recorded a 3.70, placing them at the pinnacle of academic achievement within the conference.
Head coach Bren Vasalakis guided the tennis team to this distinction, underscoring the program’s commitment to balancing competitive play with scholarly excellence.
Angela Berry White, who leads the soccer program, also saw her squad achieve the high GPA, reflecting sustained academic rigor across the department.
The league also recognized additional champions, including Cleveland State’s men’s golf and women’s tennis, Detroit Mercy’s men’s soccer and softball, Green Bay’s men’s golf and women’s basketball, Milwaukee’s men’s cross country and women’s tennis, Northern Kentucky’s men’s soccer and women’s tennis, Oakland’s men’s and women’s cross country, and Purdue Fort Wayne’s men’s golf and women’s soccer.
