The University of Houston’s baseball program has unveiled its 2027 Big 12 schedule, a 30‑game slate arranged into ten series that promises a blend of home‑field advantage and road challenges.
The season opens with a three‑game home series against West Virginia, the 2026 College World Series champions, setting a high‑stakes start under new head coach Will Davis.
Home series will also feature Utah, Texas Tech, UCF and TCU, while the Cougars will travel to Cincinnati, BYU, Baylor, Arizona State and Oklahoma State.
Davis, the ninth head coach in program history, inherits a roster reshaped by a transfer class that topped the Big 12 and ranked eighth nationally in WAR added, according to D1Baseball.
A new era beckons
With the schedule set, the focus shifts to how the team will translate its deep talent pool into on‑field success.
Historical edges add extra intrigue: Houston holds a 44‑23 lead over Cincinnati, a rivalry dating back to 1958, and remains unbeaten against Utah, having won all four meetings.
Against Baylor, the Cougars sit ahead 36‑35 in a series that spans 168 games since 1951, while a visit from Texas Tech on April 16‑18 marks the eighth most frequent opponent in school history.
The 2027 Big 12 Baseball Tournament will culminate in Surprise, Arizona, at Surprise Stadium from May 25‑29, bringing the conference’s top teams together in a desert showdown.
