Hundreds of high school soccer players converged on Thomas College in Waterville, Maine, for the final Kick For Cass event, a celebration that brought together more than 400 athletes from across the state.
The gathering served as a tribute to Cassidy Charette, the talented midfielder who died in 2014, with the ceremony taking place on July 11 — the 11th anniversary of the Kick For Cass initiative and the number she famously wore on the field.
Looking Ahead
Organized by the ShineOnCass Foundation, the day featured matches, fundraising activities and moments of remembrance, all aimed at supporting a scholarship fund that benefits student‑athletes in partnership with Central Maine United.
Since its inception, the campaign has awarded over $6,000 to deserving players, and the foundation announced plans to expand its impact through the Shine Together Youth Mentoring program, while continuing to honor Cassidy’s legacy.
