Hunter Welcing, a seventh‑year senior in college football, arrived at Ohio State after a six‑year stint at Northwestern, where he began his career in 2020. The move was driven by a desire to maximize his potential and chase an NFL dream that had been delayed by injuries and setbacks.
Welcing’s college journey has been marked by perseverance. After missing entire seasons in 2020 and 2022 due to injury, he finally broke out in 2025, recording 28 receptions for 296 yards and two touchdowns. That performance placed him among the last of the NCAA’s seventh‑year seniors, a status that still feels surreal to him.
