The Washington Huskies men's basketball program is reshaping its 2027 recruiting class after a modest 2026 haul that yielded just one three‑star commit, forward Lattimore Ford. The coaching staff is eager to move beyond that limited footprint and build a more competitive roster.
A Recruiting Push in Seattle
Head coach Danny Sprinkle will host five‑star power forward Ahmed Nur for an official visit from September 6 to 8, a swing that also includes trips to Ole Miss, Syracuse and Purdue. Nur’s itinerary underscores the intensity of the chase.
Ranked 24th overall and fourth among power forwards by 247Sports, Nur is viewed by betting markets as the most likely destination among Purdue, Ole Miss, Syracuse and Washington, though the Huskies remain determined to sway his decision.
Washington has a history of integrating international talent, with three of its 14 current commitments hailing from abroad, a trend that underpins the program’s recent success under Sprinkle.
In addition to Nur, the Huskies are courting Slovenian guard Urban Kroflic, hoping to diversify their pipeline while also emphasizing domestic prospects to lessen future dependence on overseas recruits.
