Ian Plaskoff, a senior in the Media School at Indiana University, has recently been appointed as a writer for Inside the Hall, the premier digital hub for Hoosiers sports coverage.
His relationship with Indiana University basketball dates back to his very first game at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on December 22, 2013, a night that sparked a lifelong fascination with the rhythm and drama of college hoops.
Over the past few years Plaskoff has added roughly two hundred play‑by‑play broadcasts to his résumé, while also reporting on IU women’s soccer and volleyball in his sophomore year and chronicling the historic 16‑0 run of the football team.
From the Stands to the Press Box
What excites him most is the storytelling dimension of sports — digging into players’ backgrounds, tracing recruiting pathways, and unpacking the subtle storylines that shape a season.
Now, as he prepares to cover Indiana football and both the men’s and women’s basketball programs for Inside the Hall during his senior year, Plaskoff brings a blend of broadcast experience and narrative curiosity that he hopes will deepen the connection between fans and the teams he writes about.
