The University of Idaho men's basketball team is gearing up to defend its Big Sky championship as the 2026‑27 season approaches, with a 20‑game conference schedule that blends home and away matchups.
Conference Road Trip and Homecoming
The Vandals will open Big Sky play on Dec. 3 with road contests at Northern Colorado and Portland State, setting the tone for a demanding stretch that includes a multi‑week hiatus for non‑conference games.
After the break, Idaho returns to the ICCU Arena on Dec. 31 to host Utah Tech, a game that also marks the first meeting of the expanded 11‑team league, which now includes Southern Utah and Utah Tech.
The schedule then unfolds with a rematch against Montana on Jan. 14 in Missoula and a return visit on Feb. 13 in Boise, while the coveted “Battle for King Spud” rivalry with Idaho State is slated for Jan. 25 in Moscow.
Tournament Return to Boise
Both teams will close out the regular season with home‑court finales, and the Big Sky Tournament is set to return to Idaho Central Arena in Boise from March 5‑10, 2027, promising a showcase of the conference’s top talent.
Details of the nonconference slate and specific game times remain pending, to be announced later.
