The University of Idaho football program has announced the addition of Zack Card, a talented wide receiver who transferred from Oregon State ahead of the 2024 season.
Card arrives after a three‑year stint with the Beavers, where he appeared in eleven games and compiled nine receptions for 64 yards, including a rushing touchdown as a redshirt freshman.
A familiar face in the receiving corps
During his high school years at Pittsburg High in California, Card was a standout performer, recording 71 catches for 1,411 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final two seasons. His team posted a 21‑6 record, went unbeaten in league play, and reached the CIF State Football Championship Bowl Game in 2023.
Card will now join a deep group of receivers that includes Ryan Jezioro, Tony Harste, Marquawn McCraney and Daveon Superales, giving the Vandals additional depth and versatility on the outside.
Coach Thomas Ford Jr., who previously worked with Card as a running backs coach at Oregon State, expressed enthusiasm about the player's athleticism and work ethic, noting that the transfer should help the offense become more dynamic.
The move underscores Idaho’s strategy of bolstering the roster through the transfer portal, aiming to compete strongly in the Big Sky Conference as the new campaign approaches.
